How do the stories we carry shape the way we see others?
Hosted by the Co llaboration for Interprofessional Education (CIPE) at WashU Medicine\, this interactive session at the Kemper Art Museum invites participants to explore how visual art can deepen reflection on perception\, narrative\ , and lived experience in healthcare and professional environments.
Guided by Kira Hegeman\, PhD of the Kemper Art Museum and Yoko Kiyoi\, MA from the Office of Diversity\, Equity & Inclusion\, the session draws on approaches from medical humanities and diversity\, equity\, and inclusion education to explore how personal experiences\, cultural perspectives\, and assumptions shape the w ays we interpret others.
Through gu ided observation and discussion\, participants will explore how perspective and narrative influence communication\, workplace culture\, and climate\, and how greater awareness of these dynamics can support more thoughtful and inclusive engagement with patients\, colleagues\, and communities across h ealthcare settings.
