Volunteer Request: Increased Testing in the City of St. Louis

Volunteer opportunity with City of St. Louis Department of Health as requested by Dr. Matifadza Hlatshwayo Davis MD, MPH, Director of Health

The City of St. Louis Department of Health needs to increase CoVID-19 testing in the City of St. Louis as all our testing sites and health care systems are overwhelmed.  We are working on multiple avenues to do that, but one is in partnership with the State to provide an additional 14k tests in partnership with AIM laboratories who can provide scheduling, reporting and testing services but need staffing and a location. We are hoping to get this off the ground and need the following:

  • Assistance securing one location where drive through PCR testing could be facilitated like the Victor Roberts location
  • 20-25 staff volunteers. They do not need to be nurses, physicians or healthcare workers with any formal training. AIM can train them for their testing duties (assistance with scheduling and monitoring residents self-administering tests)

Please Email Matifadza Hlatshwayo Davis, MD, MPH mailto:hlatshwayo-davism@stlouis-mo.gov] and Kelly Hall (khall@aimlaboratories.com) directly with the number of volunteers you could provide us with asap. This would be for a 10-14 day, daily or almost daily period starting at 8am until tests are exhausted. Kelly can work with part time schedules on certain days. Our hope is to be able to confirm staff for all these dates and move forward with planning to provide an additional 1000 tests a day. I appreciate your prompt response to this urgent matter and value your partnership in serving our city.
