LGBTQIA+ Health Week: Intersections of LGBTQIA+ and African American Health in St. Louis (Hybrid) 12-1pm on Friday, April 1st, 2022 in Holden Auditorium – Zoom link: https://wustl-hipaa.zoom.us/j/96169097133

-Lunch talk and presentation with Mr. Darius Recker, M.Ed. on “Intersections of LGBTQIA+ and African American Health in St. Louis.” Mr. Recker is a Regional Project Coordinator at Williams and Associates, Inc., an public health organization addressing health disparities and promoting health equity for Black and other marginalized people. -Screening of How to Survive a Plague, the brilliant documentary documenting the context of HIV/AIDS hitting the LGBTQIA+ Community and efforts for access to drugs.

LGBTQIA+ Health Week: HIV/AIDS History and Sexual Health (Hybrid) 12-1pm on Tuesday, April 5th, 2022 in Holden Auditorium  – Zoom link: https://wustl-hipaa.zoom.us/j/91215174399

-Lunch talk and presentation with Dr. Joseph Cherabie on “HIV/AIDS History and Sexual Health.” Dr. Cherabie specializes in sexual health care with emphases on LGBTQIA+ health, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV within medical education. This talk will include a presentation on the history of HIV/AIDS and important health issues in the LGBQIA+ community over time as well as the opportunity for questions. LGBTQIA+ Health Week: LGBTQIA+ Mental Health and Experiences 12-1pm on Thursday, April 7th, 2022 in Moore Auditorium

-Lunch talk and presentation with Dr. Andrea Giedinghagen on “LGBTQIA+ Mental Health and Experiences.” Dr. Giedinghagen specializes in psychitray with emphases on LGBTQIA+ youth mental health, care of transgender and gender-nonconforming youth, and trauma. This talk will include a presentation on the mental health care for the LGBTQIA+ population and this community’s experiences of both trauma and resilience. LGBTQIA+ Health Week: Introduction to Gender-Affirming Care and the Transgender Center

12-1pm on Friday, April 8th, 2022 in Connor Auditorium

-Lunch talk and presentation with Dr. Thomas Baranski on “Introduction to Gender-Affirming Care and the Transgender Center.” Dr. Baranski is an endocrinologist and co-director of the WashU Transgender Center and will present on the concept of gender-affirming care and the mission of the Transgender Center as well as his own experience providing this life-saving care.
