The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will host the 2019 Academic Medicine Career Development Regional Conference November 2 at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.  The conference is a program of Building the Next Generation of Academic Physicians (BNGAP).

The Conference will be hosted in partnership with the Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis University School of Medicine, and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  The Academic Medicine Regional Conference encourages medical students, residents, and fellows underrepresented in medicine (women, racial or ethnic minorities, the LGBTQIA community, and individuals with disabilities) to pursue careers in academic medicine. This inclusive conference is tailored to third year medical students but is also open to all medical students, residents, and fellows as well as college/post-bacc/PhD students.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Explore academic medicine careers to fit personal and professional interests
  • Navigate the array of academic medicine career paths and opportunities
  • Develop and enhance academic medicine portfolios
