This session is meant to serve as a primer and introduction into better understanding LGBTQIA+ identities and the coming out process, particularly in the culture and context of the United States of America. The session explores: 

  • Language about and for LGBTQIA+ identities and individuals,
  • Coming out as a process and demystifying “coming out” as a concept, and
  • Empathy and compassion-building for the coming out process.
