MLK Week 2027 Planning Committee Deadline

“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”
— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Every year, MLK Week brings the WashU Medicine community together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through educational programs, dialogue, service, and reflection. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion invites faculty, staff, students, and trainees to join the MLK Week 2027 Planning Committee and help create a meaningful week that inspires learning, connection, and community engagement.

Planning Committee members will work collaboratively to help develop the 2027 MLK Week theme, shape educational programs and community events, and support at least one event during the annual commemoration. Planning meetings will be held bi-weekly beginning in late summer and continuing through January 2027.

Whether you’ve participated before or are joining for the first time, we welcome individuals with diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas who are interested in strengthening our WashU Medicine community. No prior planning experience is necessary—just a willingness to collaborate, share your ideas, and help create an engaging and meaningful experience for others.

If you’re interested in serving on the MLK Week 2027 Planning Committee, please email Erin Stampp at e.stampp@wustl.edu by Friday, August 14, 2026.
