Residents and Fellows Diversity Initiative accepting applications for 2021 program
This yearlong program focuses on promoting a diverse and inclusive environment within our community to better advance health equity in the communities we serve. Participating residents and fellows will receive mentorship from campus leaders and engage with the community.

Ebony Boyce Carter, MD, a physician-scientist known for her research involving community-based interventions to promote health equity for pregnant women and their babies, has been named director of the Division of Clinical Research in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Week 2021

This year we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the activist, with a week of panel discussions, keynotes and a celebration of Black joy. All events will be held virtually.
Hlatshwayo Davis appointed to St. Louis City Board of Health (Links to an external site)

As a member of the board, the infectious diseases expert will help advise the St. Louis City Department of Health on programs of essential public health, including COVID-19 pandemic response, communicable disease mitigation, and health and racial justice.
Anesthesiology department launches research fellowship for college students from underrepresented communities (Links to an external site)

The Anesthesiology Summer Research Fellowship (ASSURE) Program will welcome its first cohort of undergraduate students in the summer of 2021. The goal is to provide opportunities and long term career support for students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the field.

Becker Library has been working to collect more resources on anti-racism and the Black Lives Matter movement, with books available for checkout in the Feuerstein Health & Wellness Information Center on the first floor of the library.
